I have some very sad news, County Cllr Terry Price passed away over the weekend after a long illness. Terry is survived by his wife Diane, two children and four grandchildren.

Terry has worked so hard for the Conservatives over many years and especially for his constituents in the Waltham Cross District. Outside of politics, as I am sure you will already know, Terry had a huge passion for scouting which he was involved in for over 60 years.

Terry will be sadly missed by his family, friends and colleagues - I know I will certainly miss him. Our thoughts are with his family.

A few weeks ago we started one of many membership drives which we are going to be doing on a more regular basis. Many thanks to the local Councillors and activists who came along to help, see attached picture - I was the one taking the picture so you are spared from having to see me. In these challenging times, we need to have a strong local Association capable of supporting our excellent independent minded MP, Charles Walker, so that he can continue to put the interests of Broxbourne constituents first. We also need to ensure that our Conservative voice is heard within the Coalition Government. You can be as involved as little or as much you want with Broxbourne Conservatives from simply just signing up and doing nothing (except receive our newsletters etc.) to coming along to social events and/or helping out with campaigning. There's absolutely no need to do anything that you don't want or have the time to do. If you are interested in joining or know someone who may be interested or just want more information then please do not hesitate to contact me directly (paolocaruso.broxbourne@gmail.com) or Sue at the office (broxbourne@tory.org or 01992 479972). I am very sad to say that John Beazley passed away at his home on 13th June. John was a former Chairman of the Broxbourne Conservative Association, Councillor and Chairman of the Council when it was Hoddesdon Urban District Council. He was a Battle of Britain pilot during the second world war and for that we all owe him a huge debt. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Here is a link which provides you with more information on John's life:

The memorial service for Wing Commander Beazley will be held on Saturday 16th July at St Lawrence's Church, Wormley. The service will begin at 11.30am, no flowers please.

Congratulations to Tony Siracusa who has been elected as the newest Councillor for Cheshunt Central. He worked really hard in the campaign and will be an excellent Councillor for Cheshunt Central.

I would like to thank everybody who was involved in the campaign for their hard work. Particular thanks go to Tony for being such a dedicated candidate, Richard and Judi Clemerson (and the whole of Cheshunt branch) who ran an extremely well organised campaign, Ken Ayling for his excellent support as election agent, and Sue Harding who as always provided excellent support from the office.
