My Conservative Story- Tom Culley

I began my journey as a member of the Conservative Party after being inspired by those around me.

Previously, in 2015, the Chairman of the Broxbourne Youth Council at the time – Brandon Minichiello organised a week of activities to celebrate the achievements of Young People across Broxbourne. A councillor approached me to recommend that I take part in the week and get involved with the activities available. I had a very enjoyable week, White Water Rafting, debating at the Council Offices and attending an Awards Ceremony for Young People on the Friday evening.

Throughout this time, I was inspired by Brandon and wanted to get more involved in representing Young People from my school and local community. After becoming a member of the Broxbourne Youth Council, I have been lucky enough to be elected as a Member of Youth Parliament, Chairman of the Broxbourne Youth Council and most recently, elected as Broxbourne’s Youth Mayor.
Throughout this time, I have become inspired and I have connected with many Young People across my local community and came to the conclusion that I felt that the Conservative vision is best for Young People and I have been enjoying my time as a member of the party since finishing my apolitical role. Thanks to an extremely supportive Conservative Council, I have seen the many projects that exist across Broxbourne, ensuring that Young Peoples voices are being heard and that we, as Young People are respected and listened to by our community.

I am now the Chairman of the Broxbourne Young Conservatives and I look forward to the challenge of engaging a new generation of Young Conservatives from across the region.
